Disable Right-Click and Keys is part of the Disable Options section in WP Ghost and offers a variety of tools to enhance the security and protection of your website content.
These features prevent unauthorized actions, such as inspecting code, copying text, or downloading images, which can safeguard your site from potential threats.
When right-click functionality is disabled, users won’t be able to access the browser context menu, which includes options like Inspect Element. This prevents unauthorized individuals from easily inspecting and manipulating your website’s code, adding an extra layer of protection to your valuable content.
Note! Even if the Disable Right Click option is switched off, it will activate when you select Disable Inspect Element, Disable View Source, and Disable Copy-Paste to prevent loading the context menu.
When you activate this option, it disables the right-click option to prevent opening the Inspect Element from the context menu and the key combination that reveals the Inspect Element feature and blocks several other commonly used combinations. These combinations include Ctrl + Shift + I, Option + Shift + Command + I, Ctrl + Shift + C, Ctrl + Shift + K, Ctrl + Shift + J, F12, etc. This prevents unauthorized users from inspecting or manipulating website code.
When you enable this option, it effectively disables the right-click option to prevent opening the View Source from the context menu and it also disables the key combinations that reveal the View Source element on your website. Specifically, it disables combinations such as Option + Command + U on macOS and Ctrl + U on Windows.
View Source is a feature in web browsers that allows users to access and view a webpage’s HTML source code. By disabling these key combinations, WP Ghost reduces the risk of content scraping and reverse engineering.
When you activate this option in WP Ghost, visitors can no longer copy content from your website. This feature helps protect your valuable textual content, preventing unauthorized duplication or plagiarism. It disables the right-click option to prevent Copying the test from the context menu and it also disables the combinations such as Command + C, Command + V on macOS and Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V on Windows.
This option is a sub-option of Disable Copy. When you activate it in WP Ghost, visitors can no longer paste content into your website forms and fields.
Note! By disabling Paste, you will disable the ability to paste data into Forms like Search, Contact, and Comments. We recommend whitelisting the paths that contain forms on Firewall > Whitelist Paths.
By enabling this option, WP Ghost prevents visitors from dragging and dropping images on your website. This feature ensures that images cannot be easily downloaded or misused without your permission.
The Disable Options in WP Ghost provides a powerful way to control user interactions and protect your site’s content. By leveraging these tools, you can maintain the integrity and security of your website while offering a seamless experience for genuine visitors.
